Terms of Service
Last updated: July 7, 2026
These terms are a contract between you and Draftworks. They apply to your account, the API, and the website. Plain English throughout. If anything here is unclear, write to support@draftworks.dev before you rely on it.
1. Service description
Draftworks is the operating name of this service. We provide an OpenAI-compatible API for GPT-5.5 inference, served from Microsoft Azure infrastructure. The API exposes chat completions, responses, model listing, and receipt retrieval endpoints as documented at draftworks.dev/docs.
Draftworks is an independent reseller. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by OpenAI or Microsoft.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when you register and keep it current. One account per person or legal entity. API keys are secrets: do not publish them, embed them in client-side code, or share them outside your organization.
You are responsible for all usage made under your API keys, including usage you did not intend. If you believe a key has been compromised, revoke it in the dashboard immediately and contact us.
3. Credits and billing
The service is prepaid. One credit equals one US dollar of inference at your tier's published per-token rates. The minimum purchase is $5. Credits are non-transferable between accounts.
- Purchased credits are valid until 1 July 2028, after which any remaining balance expires.
- Unused credits are refundable on request within 30 days of the purchase they came from.
- Once your lifetime purchases reach $5,000, your account moves to the bulk tier (25% under OpenAI list price). The bulk tier is permanent for your account.
- We may change per-token prices with at least 14 days' written notice. Price changes are never applied retroactively: credits you already purchased keep the rates that were in effect when you bought them until a change takes effect, and consumed usage is never re-billed.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service for unlawful purposes;
- abuse, probe, or circumvent rate limits, metering, or billing;
- resell raw API access to third parties without our written consent (building products on top of the API is fine and expected);
- violate the upstream usage policies that bind us, including OpenAI's usage policies and Microsoft's Azure OpenAI Service Code of Conduct.
We may suspend keys or accounts that violate this section. Where practical, we will warn you first.
5. Service levels
We make commercially reasonable efforts to keep the service available and fast, but we do not warrant any specific uptime. The service depends on upstream providers, primarily Microsoft Azure for inference, and an upstream outage is an outage for us. Latency figures we publish, including the telemetry in usage.latency_checkpoint, are measurements, not guarantees.
6. Verification receipts
Every API response is signed with Ed25519 and retrievable later at GET /v1/receipts/{id}. A receipt is cryptographic proof of what was served: the model identity, token counts, and hashes of the request and response bodies, exactly as documented. A receipt is not a warranty of output quality, accuracy, or fitness for any purpose.
7. Disclaimers
Model outputs are generated by a machine learning system and may be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. Outputs are not legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost data.
9. Termination
Either party may terminate at any time. You can close your account from the dashboard or by emailing us; we may terminate or suspend for violation of these terms. On termination for any reason, we refund your unused credit balance.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will email you at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance. The latest version is always at this URL.
11. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions, notices, and disputes: support@draftworks.dev.
